David specialises in all aspects of injury work and also has an increasingly busy regulatory practice. He has the advantage of having practised in medicine as a junior surgeon and a GP for a number of years and a decade of full time practice at the Bar. He acts for claimants and defendants. He is well known for specialist high quantum and causation advice, particularly in the area of neurological injury.

David is recommended as a leading junior at the Clinical Negligence and Professional Discipline bars in Chambers & Partners in which he is described as “a pugnacious fighter who will pull out all the stops on a difficult case” with “a very good understanding of the way in which sports governing bodies seek to regulate their sports”. David was appointed an FA Commissioner on the FA Regulatory Authority in 2008.
